Job well done!
11/10/2008

A special thanks to the UA!

Brothers and Sisters,

It is with great honor and pride that we write to you on this historic moment all of us have worked so hard for. We cannot thank you enough for all of your and your members’ hard work and dedication over the past many months.

As General President Hite said in his recent communication to you this election season has seen an unprecedented involvement from United Association local unions this year and it has paid off and with continued hard work and vigilance it will continue to do so for years to come.

We know that all of you as well as ourselves are proud to be a member of the United Association and it is well deserved. We have seen the true union spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood in the UA this year. We saw it in every state around the country as locals and their members went above and beyond to sacrifice their own time to knock on doors, make phone calls, attend rallies, give donations and make sure working families’ voices were heard.

Now that the elections are over, it is time to end one journey and begin another as we see a new administration and new congress take over and confront the issues so important to organized labor. Everyone should take a well deserved rest, but be prepared to continue the fight in January as we redouble our efforts to push for labor law reforms and other worker friendly legislation on Capitol Hill. Now is our time for change and we must not let up. The spirit we have shown this elections, must continue on for the sake of our membership and all working families.

It has been an absolute pleasure to work with each and every one of you and again, thank you from the bottom of our heart. A special thank you is owed to General President Hite for his vision and leadership. We wouldn’t be where we are at without them.

Yes We Can!
